The thaw continues

17th March 2023

Thaw conditions well and truly established in the Northern Cairngorms today.  The existing snowpack continues to stabilise in the mild conditions (+4.1 degrees at 1090m around lunchtime) with some deeper instabilities still persisting on certain aspects.  Greatest amount of snow can be found above 900 metres and is becoming patchy and broken below this height.
