A good day for blowing the cobwebs away

17th December 2023

Continuing very windy with gusts of over 100 mph at summit levels, very mild; plus 5 degrees Celsius on the summits during the afternoon.  The Cairngorms missed the bulk of the rain with only a few light showers crossing the mountains.  Ribbons of snow remain in shallow gullies and coire back walls.  Cooler temperatures are expected to arrive during Monday evening.

Stormy conditions over the Cairngorms.
