Another Misty Day
10th December 2023
It was another misty and murky day up the hill today. Not a great day for photos! There was some drizzle at most levels with some very light wet snow above 1100 metres. The freezing level was around the highest tops during the morning, dropping slightly in the afternoon. The snowpack is generally isothermal, and is slowly thawing at all but the highest tops. Turning colder tomorrow which should re-freeze things.
Looking over to Message Pottage Buttress. Could not see much, but a couple of lads I spoke to who had had a closer look said the bottom of the buttress was quite black, but the upper half was still looking quite white.

A couple of folk heading up with slope from Coire an t-Sneachda to windy col. This area is well filled in given that it is only early/mid December.

A fair bit of moisture about. In flat areas with poor drainage the the snowpack is very wet. This is likely to freeze solid when the temperature drops over the next few days.
