A changing landscape

24th January 2024

A significant loss of snow cover overnight due to the heavy rainfall with very little evidence of any new snow.  The snowpack is now moist throughout and continues to thaw, disappearing at lower elevations in the mild conditions.  An improving trend generally in relation to snowpack stability but some instabilities persisting in the highest wind sheltered locations.
