Inversion with fresh Westerlies

12th January 2024

Another day of inversion conditions, mist and sub zero temperatures in the glen, summit temperatures reached a high of plus 5 degrees C.  Westerly winds were moderate to strong at around wind exposed areas.  Some redistribution of windslab from the Coire rims onto the plateau.

Meall a Bhuachaille popping out of the mist.

Coire an t-Sneachda.

Ascending windy col onto the plateau from Sneachda.

Drifting at ground level, this was being whipped up from the coire rim.

A great day to be out and about in the hills on this perfect winters day.
