Light winds with clear spells

7th January 2024

A super day to be in the Cairngorms, light winds generally good visibility, cold temperatures.  Conditions underfoot have much improved over the last few days.  Boulder fields are a bit easier to cross, and snow slopes generally firm with a thin coating of fresh snow.  The main paths are quite icy in places and some people left their crampons on for gripper travel.

Here’s a few photo’s from Coire an t- Sneachda today.

Climbers head up towards Mess of Potage.

Fiachaill Buttress

Brighter spells over Mess of Potage.

Cloudier conditions first thing this morning.
