A sunny afternoon

13th March 2024

After a dank morning, things improved to leave a sunny afternoon.  Unfortunately there was more rain overnight and this morning than expected and this has reduced overall snow amounts, especially where cover was thin.  Fortunately, the winds weren’t as strong as forecasted and the temperature did lower. Photo’s to provide a general idea of snow cover and lurking cornices.

Looks like the rain is washing the snow away.

The bulk of the snow is generally above 900 metres, around coire back walls, ribbons below this altitude.
