The white room

24th March 2024

A poor day for observations and photos with any fleeting view being extremely short lived. More overnight snowfall has continued to top up snow cover, especially mid mountain and above.  Many areas have a superficial covering but where the snow has been collecting over the past few days, accumulations are significant with instabilities present.

Above: looking down to the eastern end of Loch Avon.

Above: East quadrant aspects holding the greatest accumulations.

Above: typical plateau conditions.

Above: the one second clearing today of the Northern Coires.
