Drifting snow

16th March 2024

A blue sky start to the day with light winds and summit temperatures of minus 6C.  As the day progressed SSE winds increased strong to gale force by mid afternoon.  During this time there was significant drifting of lying snow, and poorly bonded windslab developed on Northerly aspects.

Looking over towards the Goat track and Fiacaill Buttress.

By midday cloud began to roll in from the South. Views of Coire an t-Sneachda from the S side of Cairngorm.
