Another day of high pressure

11th December 2024

Inversion conditions; freezing temperatures in the glen and a midday temperature of plus 7 C on the summit of Cairngorm.  Shaded aspects remain firm and sun exposed slopes softned through the day.  Good snow cover above 600 metres, with more shallow deposits on some ridges and slopes.

A thin cover of ice on Loch Morlich.
