The Big Melt

16th December 2024

Forty-eight hours of thaw conditions has changed the landscape dramatically.  The snow cover is now reduced to ribbons, strips and isolated patches mainly found in wind sheltered locations where depth was greatest.  Although its been too windy for access on the high plateaus due to storm force winds, it’s likely that these too have had a significant loss of snow.
