Cairn Lochan
23rd December 2025
An atmospheric day to be on the hill today with the cloud hanging onto the high summits which made observations once again, less than ideal. The mild theme continues but there is light at the end of the tunnel as the freezing levels start a downward trajectory later this evening. There is a skiff of new snow expected overnight on the highest summits but it is a mainly dry and stable forecast. Expect the remaining snow to start firming up.
Lochan Buidhe (1120m). According to Wikipedia (must be true) it is the highest named body of water in the British Isles. Fact of the day?
