Crunchy plateau
16th January 2026
A bright morning before the clouds rolled in from the South. Underfoot conditions are very similar to yesterday. A mix of breakable crust, and firm snow. The plateau is also a variety of rocks covered in lumpy chunks of ice along with crunching through a breakable crust with stretches of firm snow.
Avalanche debris now covered with new snow. This avalanche occured during the thaw a few days ago. It was full depth and ran all the way to the coire floor. The crown wall was from Windy col to half way across the crag apron of Mess of Potage.
