Wild and windy
12th March 2026
Heavy rain with snowfall at the highest levels turned more showery during the morning. South-Westerly winds were gusting over 90 mph at summit levels. By mid afternoon the sharp drop in temperature from minus 2 to minus 5 Celsius, led to snow falling at lower levels. For a large part of the day visibility was poor, especially during heavy showers but there were some brighter spells for a view of the corrie.
