A clear morning before hill fog from the South rolled in over the summits.  Light winds increased to moderate which lead to drifting snow above 600 metres.  Temperatures have remained cold; minus 5C on the summit of Cairngorm, at glen levels it was mostly subzero temperatures due to an inversion.
Little change from yesterdays hill conditions apart from better visibility.  On wind exposed slopes at higher levels if traveling by ski the sastrugi feels relentless; however some terrain is more forgiving with straightforward terrain ahead.  If your on foot there’s a mix of firm snow especially on wind exposed slopes and ridges, there are deep drifts in lee areas and the burdemson breakable crust is widespread.

Low cloud above the glen.
