A day of sunshine and mild temperatures but feeling chilly in the Southerly breeze. Â Although the freezing level rose to above the summits by mid morning, the snowpack remains firm above 900 metres and quite icy in places.
Large patches of snow remain below this altitude. The burns are mostly visible and sometimes crossings are precarious especially when navigating around large cave like holes.
