Bright and Cold

The snowpack remnants have firmed up in the cold conditions and it is pretty icy in places,. but it has slowed the thaw.
Even though the freezing level is well above the summits at the moment, inversion conditions are keeping a layer of cold air near the surface and helping to maintain good snow conditions.
