Windy

11th April 2024

Overnight the Freezing level remained above the summits. However, Cairngorm summit temperature did drop from 4.5 degrees to 1.6 degrees which is at least a positive trend towards consolidating the snow pack.

Some point release avalanches caused by wet snow instabilities were observed on Northerly aspects around 1000 metres, most likely initiated during the first hours of the thaw yesterday.
