Clear and sunny.

27th February 2017

A cracking day, cool and windy at first but becoming very springlike in the afternoon.

A clear start to the day although fairly windy first thing. The plateau still has a lot of rock showing although some ski touring is possible away from the wind exposed areas.

There is plenty of unstable windslab around at the moment. Generally shallow it will become a significant issue if there is more snow deposited on these areas.

Climbers at the top of the Fiacaill ridge.

Looking into Corrie t-Snechda. Windslab has formed around rock features.

Plenty of snow blowing around but this significantly eased late morning.

Kath checking out the gully exits.

Careful route selection needed in some locations. Near vertical areas of windslab had formed in some gully exits.

Descent down Corrie Cas headwall. Generally shallow windslab.
