A ski day.

1st March 2017

Great to be out on ski’s today for a short tour around. Quality descents, short but sweet! Today is still a very localised issue but with the winds a lot stronger on Thursday expect deeper poorly bonded accumulations to develop.

Looking South-east towards Beinn Mheadhoin. West facing slopes (facing us) are mainly firm.

The East side of Corrie Raibeirt holding good snow. There was some excellent ski-ing around today.

Corrie Raibeirt again, looking toward the Westerly slopes.

The plateau has good cover. Likely to see reasonable amounts of drifting during Thursday.

Looking to Carn Etchachan. There was an increase in drifting snow today, likely to be more extensive during Thursday.

Lone walker heading towards Cairngorm. Despite the black clouds it stayed mainly dry.

A team climbing out of the Corrie using a Westerly aspect. With many areas of localised windslab careful route choice is essential as this team demonstrated.

Two ski tourers enjoying the conditions. Stacan Dubh in the background.

Fiacaille Ridge. Spot the climber?
