Dry with fleeting spells of sunshine

7th April 2017

A dry day with moderate Westerly winds.  The freezing level rose to just above the summits around midday.  A sparse snowpack, with greatest amounts on the plateau and coire back walls.  Steep Northerly facing slopes softened through the day.  Ice axe very useful if venturing onto steeper patches of snow, as runouts are serious with boulder fields below.

A dry day expected for Saturday with sunny spells and moderate to strong Westerly winds.  Freezing level will remain above summits throughout.
