Another day in the White-room!

28th December 2017

Another whiteout day, snow cover much more extensive and deeper today on all Southerly aspects above 1000 metres, but still thin soft cover and rocky on Northerly aspects. Hard going on foot on plateau and S aspects, knee deep in many places where wind sheltered.

Looking toward Aviemore and the Spey Valley after emerging out of the clouds.

something to look at! at summit cairn at the 1141 Fiachaill of Coire an t Sneachda.

Conditions today in the Northern Cairngorms, weakness at depth but in isolated locations with steep wind sheltered terrain most affected.
