A sunny end to the season

14th April 2018

A great day to end the season, moderate winds, mild, sunny and a diminishing snowpack.  Large snowfields remain above 700 metres and on the plateau.

The main hazards to avoid during these spring conditions are surface instabilities especially on steep sun exposed slopes, full depth avalanches, rock fall and cornice collapse.

This is the last blog and avalanche report for this season, thanks for your support over the winter.

Really appreciated all your photos and comments. Many thanks for all the hours you have spent outside in all weathers and then behind a computer screen to bring us them. Enjoy the summer and being able to choose which days to enjoy the mountains !
