Pea soup day

17th March 2019

Squally snow showers and whiteout conditions for most of the day above 800 metres.  Feeling bitterly cold in the Northerly winds.  Snow cover is generally good, wind exposed areas are becoming eroded, especially over the summits and on ridges.

Cairngorm summit weather station, encased in rime ice.

A group of ski tourers take shelter.

The same group head down the South Side of Cairngorm.
