More snow

The Scottish Avalanche Information Service would recommend that those wishing to enjoy the winter mountains refer to Mountaineering Scotland and Scottish Government advice regarding Covid-19 and outdoor activities.

 

More fresh snow has fallen on strong North-North-East winds overnight. Snow showers became less frequent during the day although visibility remained poor.

Shooting cracks from my skis at around 1000 metres. this indicates instability within the windslab.

Looking across a west facing slope at around 1000 metres. Deep accumulations here from the strong East- North-Easterly winds.

The crags remained hidden today, the east side of Fiacaill Coire an-t-Sneachda looking much more scoured than the westerly aspect in the previous picture.
