A cold day

15th January 2022

A much cooler day than of late with a thin dusting of snow above 900 metres.  Remaining snowfields are very firm, steep slopes have a serious run out potential into the bare rocky ground below.  Smears of ice forming, this is more established in some areas providing some good winter sport.

The sun hides behind Coire an Lochain which looks and feels like a deep freeze.

A fine dusting of fresh snow

Looking up towards Lochain buttresses.

At 1050 metres looking across “The Great Slab” – Lochain.

Views looking North from the Coire.
