Snowfall at higher levels.

12th February 2022

Rain turned to snowfall above 900 metres.  South-Westerly winds were gusting 90 to 100 mph during the night, easing through the day.  The snowpack is soft and thawing at lower altitudes.  Westerly facing slopes and the West side of most ridges are mostly clear of snow.  Gales are expected to continue through the night before turning much lighter through the day time.

Sunrise over the Northern Corries.

Soft snow at 900 metres

Some shelter from the wind on the East side of the Cas ridge.

Coire and Sneachda looking a bit more wintry.
