Stormy

23rd February 2022

Severe South-Westerly gales, heavy rain and snowfall for the duration of the day.  At lower levels the snowpack is soft, thawing and becoming saturated.   Creep lines which indicate snowpack weaknesses have developed on steep banks.   Snow is falling at higher altitudes where unstable windslab is developing.

Underfoot conditions, a mix of heather, weight supporting snow and post holing!

A wet blurry photo of the Ciste gully.
