Mild and windy.

16th April 2022

Mild conditions continue with strong Southerly winds.  The thawing snowpack is most widespread above 1100 metres, around coire back walls and the plateau.  It’s patchy below this altitude with ribbons of snow in shallow gullies.  Some of the higher lochains are still frozen but the burns are flowing fast from melting snow.

A Ring Ouzel was sighted on the way into Coire an t-Sneachda today, sadly no photo but spring has definitely sprung.

A bright breezy walk into Coire an t-Sneachda.

Walking out of the coire.

Cloud cap over the Cairngorms indicating strong Southerly winds.
