21st January 2023

Gale force Southerly winds accompanied by a steady rise in temperature.  Freezing conditions remained at summit levels for most of the day with temperatures of around minus 3 Centigrade.  Away from the main snowfields wind exposed slopes and ridges are becoming stripped of snow.

Stormy conditions over the Cairngorms, with a steady thaw setting in below 1000 metres.

Looking down the Cas, large snow fields remain intact.

Stormy conditions – looking into Coire ant-Sneachda. A few groups were walking into the coire.

A little more sheltered from the wind on East facing slopes, but still very gusty.
