The white room above 1000 metres.

15th January 2023

The Cairngorms are looking significantly more wintry after several centimetres of snow arrived during Saturday night, this was accompanied by gale force North-Westerly winds.   Transport today was on ski which gave smooth travel, even some of the boulder fields were passable with careful route choice.  Cold temperatures are with us for the next few days, this will preserve the current weaknesses within the snowpack.

Navigation on ski was tricky, to slow things down a bit we kept our skins on and walked the steeper descents.
