April snow showers

10th April 2023

A breezy day with occasional light sleet and snow showers above 1000 metres, long spells of sunshine in between.

The top of the Cas head wall with Coire an t-Sneachda behind.

A male and female ptarmigan, their plumage is beginning to change ready for spring.

Looking South down the upper reaches of Coire Raibert; here the snow was soft and thawing.

Looking down in to Coire an t-Sneachda.  Although steep the descent from here is generally clear of snow.

The path into Coire an t-Sneachda is mostly free of snow. The goat track can be seen to the right.
